- Student Lab Managers are experienced coaches who can commit to managing various aspects of the labs operations.
Application
- To apply as a Lab Manager, a Coach should contact the Coordinator or the Director.
Training
- Training for Lab Managers will be conducted individually with either the Acting Director or the Coach Coordinator.
Scheduling
Lab Managers will float in and out of the lab to fulfill assigned duties and to serve as resources for coaches.
They should check the posted schedules to see if they have been assigned hours in cases where the coaching pool could not cover certain time slots. They should plan to be in the lab at various times so that their schedules don't overlap.
Documenting participation
Lab managers have the same responsibilities for documenting their participation as do the Coaches.
Because of their more flexible schedules, Lab Managers must be especially careful to document hours spent outside the lab when they are engaged in any work for CommLab.
Lab Duties
Each year, the Coordinator will assign managers to specific duties, based on manager availability and expertise.
Regardless of the title or duties, managers should assume responsibility for problem-solving and for informing the Coordinator and/or Director of potential or existing problems.
The managers also provide ideas for improving services to the lab's clients.
The following duties might be divided in different ways, depending on the managers in a given year.
