Manager Positions

Lab Duties

Each year, the Lab Coordinator will assign managers to specific duties, based on manager availability and expertise. Regardless of the title or duties, managers should assume responsibility for problem-solving and for informing the Lab Coordinator and/or Director of potential or existing problems. The managers also provide ideas for improving services to the lab's clients.

Client Manager

This person has primary responsibility for the following:

  • Check the CommLab e-mail on a regular basis
  • Respond to client e-mail requests
  • Assist with scheduling of special-request appointments
  • Track client appointment trends
  • Alert the Lab Coordinator to any needs for increased or decreased coach scheduling so that the lab can meet client needs

Records Manager

This person has primary responsibility for the following:

  • Compile and maintain records of client visits
  • Provide data reports to Lab Coordinator
  • Monitor use and storage of equipment; report equipment problems to Lab Coordinator

Coaching Manager

This person has primary responsibility for the following:

  • Create and post coach work schedule
  • Assist coaches with scheduling issues
  • Help train new coaches

Website Manager

This person has primary responsibility for the following:

  • Check CommLab website for errors and/or outdated information
  • Edit website text and links
  • Update site pictures

Marketing Manager

This person has primary responsibility for the following:

  • Create new marketing strategies and materials
  • Build relationships with various campus and community groups
  • Update current marketing materials, as needed
